The segments the live version names, right now.

The same set SegmentObserver.retain is handed, available to ask for rather than only to be told. A layer that keeps per-segment derived data needs it at the one moment retain cannot cover: when it is attaching to a store that has been running without it, and has therefore never been told anything.
